A Happy Mother of the Bride

With all the energy and hard work that we invest into each wedding, there is nothing more rewarding than a happy client!

Gillian Marie Event Design had the honor of working on Jenny and Kris' wedding in January at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. Like most out of state brides, our conversations consisted of primarily email and telephone calls.

Jenny's parents, who are Bay Area locals, had met me at The Party and Wedding Faire in Walnut Creek, and after a bit of conversation, knew that I would be a match for their young and spirited daughter! I was lucky that they were very involved and excited to help Jenny plan the wedding of her dreams.

Throughout the eight months prior to the wedding we met several times, and I learned what a terrific family they all were. Not only were they all gorgeous at the wedding, but their happiness truly shined through. It was to my delight when I received this telephone voicemail from Jenny's mother Laurie after the wedding! Here are a few photos as well from Jenny and Kris' special day.

Thank you all so much for making my job not only EASY... but FABULOUS!

All of my love,
Gillian

A City Affair for Shannon and Jim

As we organize and prepare for a busy wedding season, I find myself looking back at the year's weddings with a smile.

I wish that I had time to share photos from all of our weddings, however some never manage to get a blog. This was the case for Shannon and Jim!

Last week I got a phone call from Shannon, who had just received professional photos of her big day! While we wait for professional files, I clicked through my photo library and found a few pictures that brought me right back to her wedding in September.

Shannon and Jim were married at the Marines Memorial Club, which was an ideal location for Jim a Merchant Marine and native San Franciscan. For those unfamiliar, Marines Memorial Club, this hotel has old San Francisco architecture combined with regal accents and nautical charm.

Here are a few of of our photos from the wedding!

Shannon wanted to capture a balance between romance, history, and tradition. We utilized antiqued silver candelabras and blown roses with twinkling candle light throughout the reception hall. Touches of sage represented Shannon's Louisiana upbringing while accents of Seeded Eucalyptus honored Jim's Bay Area roots.

Shannon fastened a special heirloom to her bouquet which consisted of white, ivory, and blush garden roses and ranunculus. The sweet aroma of her bouquet matched the beautiful smile that Shannon had all afternoon!

Thank you Shannon and Jim for letting us be a part of your special day! May you enjoy a lifetime of happiness together.

Love,

Gillian
